Gaziantep Central Street Ramadan & Christmas Dual-Season Project 2024

The municipal budget was sufficient for a single season, yet a dual-season decoration system covering both Ramadan and Christmas was required. The same infrastructure needed to serve two very different cultural themes.

A modular system was designed. Permanent connection points and main cable runs were fixed to the poles as the fixed infrastructure, while theme-specific decoration elements were made interchangeable via a quick-attach/detach mechanism. Ramadan rope inscriptions and crescent-star motifs, and Christmas stars, snowflakes and portals were all produced to fit the same infrastructure.

Şehitkamil Municipality achieved high-quality decoration across two separate seasons with a single infrastructure investment. The system installation cost was 45% lower than building two separate systems. The project became a reference model adopted by neighbouring municipalities.
