Ankara Central Street Christmas Lighting Project 2024

Decorating a 1.2 km street with heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic without closing the road, and supplying power to the entire system without exceeding the existing 450-volt electrical infrastructure.

The work progressed simultaneously from both ends of the street. Forty-eight portals were installed using the existing electrical connections on the street poles. Custom steel structures were factory-fabricated to carry the tall pole motifs. LED cable bridges provided the decorative transitions between portals.

The street decoration was completed in six days and the lights were switched on at a ceremony held on the evening of 1 December. The opening event was attended by 15,000 people. The project received extensive local media coverage and produced a notable increase in both tourism and retail sales along the street.
